So many good things about this vid! First of all, THE CRANBERRIES!

I loved the colors you used. They were intense and vivid like the scenes. I liked the bw/color parallelism between Katie as Ruby and Gen as Ruby. And man, the way you used the beats esp. in the shot where it speeds up and it's in sync with Sam and Ruby kissing. I liked that ending shot too of Ruby's smile/lips.

Okay. This video, is AMAZING. I am about to gush embarrassingly about it, so prepare yourself! I actually thought a while after watching 4.09 how fabulous it would be if you made a Sam/Ruby vid, because I remembered how you made Dean/Rory seem sexy in a tense, edgy, slow burning kind of way in some of your GG vids, when onscreen they were mostly sweet and adorable, and I thought the only way that the scene from 4.09 could be sexier is if you used it in a vid. And you did! And I was right!

This is so beautiful. The colours are all lush and jewel like, and I adore the way you cut in closer to some things, zoom in on a slow beat and focus on lips or a point of contact, catch a glance as it moves with the music or flip a scene around so it seems new. And also cuts out the CW logo! It all adds up this languid, luscious richness.

I am totally in awe of how well you match movement with music. It's difficult to pick up specific moments when everything seems to fit the music in some way, but as at about 30 seconds in when Sam brings the gun up in perfect time with whatever instrument it is that makes the accompanying noise (can you tell I don't have much technical music knowledge?) or at 44 or so seconds in, when there's a flash of Sam pushing Ruby away to accompany the rush of drums that beats a little faster than the song's normal tempo for a moment, or Sam hauling Ruby onto his lap as the drum beats again at about 1.18. It gets to where it seems impossible it all fits together so well and you wonder if the music wasn't conducted to go with the video.

It all just works. Katie!Ruby is well suited to black and white (were her eyes really that shiny?), and Genevieve!Ruby looks best when you can appreciate the colour of her lips and richness of her hair. I love the visual messages, the parallels, Sam greeting Ruby in the beginning in two different yet similar ways with both of them physically changed and Sam reaching for a gun, the Colt and the knife pressed to Ruby's neck and her first cocky reaction contrasted with her second more vulnerable one, Ruby's release from the two devil's traps, people getting thrown against walls. The narrowing of the screen on Dean's arm pushing against Sam and Ruby between them but in the background. The last part where I can't stop looking at everyone's eyes as they flick about, and it feels a little claustrophobic, and Dean leaves, and then Sam looks at Ruby's lips and starts to smile. It's kind of the exact opposite of what I'd want to happen in canon, but here it is fabulous. And I have so much love for the little cut backs to Sam for a second after the song name comes up and the way the shot of him blurs out with the final bit of music.

There were several hours before I saw this on the newsletter when I didn't know about this vid. I may have to friend you so it doesn't happen again because every time you make a vid I love it even more than the last one!
